Iraqi attempts to restore four Iranian electricity lines

Baghdad/ Iraq TradeLink: Iraqi electricity ministry disclosed that the Cabinet approved renewing the contract with the Iranian side to restore four electrical lines that provided the country with electricity.

The sources denied the reports that the Iranian debts were the main reasons for cutting off the electricity lines.

According to available reports, Iran wants 700 million dollars for selling its electricity to Iraq.

It is expected that the four Iranian electricity lines will provide Iraq with 1600 MW, where 400 MW shall be allocated to Basra province.
