Chaos, negligence hamper reconstruction of Mosul city

Nineveh/ Iraq TradeLink: After more than two years of ending Da’ish (ISIS) war in Nineveh,
particularly in Mosul city, it seems that the Iraqi authorities have no enough equipment to lift the destruction that befell the city.

Provincial sources confirmed that there are no enough funds for the reconstruction of the city.

But, other observers said that the contractors used to waste time, or having no existence at all, in the reconstruction process to get more funds from their profitable contracts.

Economists believe that there is no strategic plan for the reconstruction of the city, as well as mal-planning.

2019 national budget allocated 560 million dollars to build Mosul city, but UN sources expected that this figure should not less than 1.8 billion dollars.
